Dee’s Spicy Bean Burger Mini Sliders for National Burger Day. Yum!

27 Aug Close up of Dee's Mini Spicy Bean Sliders

1 pack of Dee’s Organic Spicy Bean Burgers
1(6) pack of mini slider buns

BBQ sauce
Sweet chilli sauce
Red pepper and chilli relish
Sliced tomato
Spring onion

Cook Dee’s burgers according to instruction. I cooked mine in a frying pan and finished them in the oven.
When cooked I cut each one in 4.
You can assemble then how you wish but this is what I did:- (picture)

1) BBQ sauce, tomato and spinach
2) Red pepper and chili relish with blackened avocado.
3) Sweet chilli with spring onions

To fry the avocado. Heat a frying pan (no oil) on high, and put big slices or wedges on the pan and blacken slightly on both sides and season with a little salt.

If you can’t find mini slider (mini hamburger buns) you can always just cut buns to size or uses small bread rolls.

Other flavours/topping
– mushroom and onion
– vegan cheese burger
– Mexican salsa burger
– Batter ones etc

These are great for dinner specially if you have small kids. They can “build” their own tasty burger and it’s healthy too!

These sliders are also great as appetisers, finger food at a party or a snack for lunch.
You can make they as simple or as fancy as you wish.

Hearty miso soup

18 Sep

You will need

1 block of extra firm tofu cubed
4 tablespoon of dark Soya sauce
2 tablespoon of coconut oil/ vegetable oil
2-3 tablespoon of miso bean paste
500-700ml water
2inch Ginger chopped
3 garlic cloves chopped
1-2 chilli sliced (optional)
2 hands full of baby spinach
100-200g of sliced stir fry vegetables such as baby corn, broccoli, sugar snaps, green bean, Mushrooms and cabbage
25g seaweed – we like Dulse

Marinate your cubed tofu In the soya sauce.
Heat a wok on high. add the oil, and brown the tofu
Add vegetables and chilli. Cook for a few mins.
In a bowl add miso and water (or used as instructed on packet )
Add the miso to the wok, add ginger and garlic. Cook for a few mins.
Add seaweed and spinach.

Serve as is or with some noodles .

If you don’t like seaweed you can always add more spinach
When buying miso paste/miso soup mix. Always check they are vegan as lot of them contain fish.
With the chilli you can leave the seed in or out depending on your taste.

If you have any brown rice left over from dinner, sometimes I like to put a spoon or two straight from the fridge into a bowl at breakfast time and top with hot miso soup.

Dee’s Vegan Quinoa Pots “…the healthiest quick-meal solution” says Fitness Expert Karl Henry

1 Jul Dee's Quinoa Pot with Hot Mexican Peppers

Karl Henry fitness expert from Operation Transformation has recommended our Quinoa Pots for a healthy quick-meal solution.  Customers have been asking for stockists and the list is short to date, as these are only available in Tesco.  However we hope to have some more stockists soon for those of you that are not near to a Tesco store.

Quinoa is a high protein superfood and our tasty Quinoa pots are ideal for those with busy lives who do not want to compromise their health.

Exercising in the morning helps you burn more calories during the day and also burn more fat in your workouts, but it isn’t for everyone.

If you aren’t a morning person, then don’t work out first thing.

Remember, it should always be fun. If it’s not, then try another type of exercise.  Fast food

When you come home from work hungry for your dinner, you want something quick and easy – but it can be hard to get somethinghealthy, too.

Last week, I came across Dee’s Quinoa Pots in the supermarket. Seriously yummy but low in salt, sugar and preservatives, I was seriously impressed. They are vegetarian and use the superfood quinoa as a source of protein.

This is one of the healthiest quick-meal solutions that I have tasted and, better still, it’s made by an Irish company. Check out dees.ie to see all of its products.
